Nitrile rubber
Illustrated Guide to Mechanical Building Services 3rd Edition (BG 31/2017), written by David Bleicher and published by BSRIA in May 2017, suggests that nitrile rubber is: ‘…typically used for refrigeration, chilled water pipework or air conditioning ductwork, but can be used on hot water services. It is used in areas where condensation is likely as it is a closed-cell foam so water cannot collect in the insulation and no chemicals can leach out.’
